Who we are
We're just a bunch of people from a lot of different backgrounds who come together to share a meal each week and to learn more about Yahweh (God) and His Son, Jesus. We use the Bible as our primary text. We aren't hung up on one particular translation, though the on-screen text is typically the NASB95.
We are not an organized religious organization or a 501(c)(3) — just a bunch of people who come together to study the Word.
Our history
Family Bible Study started somewhere around 2003. We can't pin an exact date on it — we've hosted the study in many different places over the years as we've moved for space and growth.
Who pays for all this
We've never collected money. Generous people inside and outside the study provide what we need to host it. If you can't afford the meal, it's no big deal — no one will ask or look down on you, and there are no collection boxes or plates.
What we believe
We believe the Bible is true. What any of us believes matters less than what the Bible actually says — so we try our best to:
- study the Word in the context it was written,
- understand the culture it was written to,
- immerse ourselves in the original languages as much as we can,
- and use other texts, videos, and resources to deepen understanding.
